Listing Terms Glossary

Understanding the basic terms will help you create listings confidently and rent smoothly.

Booking Options vs. Units

Booking Options

Booking Options let you offer different versions of the same listing at different prices. Think of them as choices the renter can pick from before booking.

Item Example: A tablecloth rental could have two options — “Set of 5 tablecloths for $20” or “Set of 10 tablecloths for $35.” Space Example: A hall rental could have options like “Main Hall Only” for $500 or “Hall + Kitchen” for $700.

Units

Units refer to how many sets of an item or how many identical spaces are available to rent at the same time.

Item Example: You are listing 5 sets of 10 chairs. Each set of 10 chairs is 1 unit. If you have 5 units, 5 different renters can book the chairs at once. Space Example: You are listing classrooms in a building. If you have 3 identical classrooms, you would set 3 units — so 3 different renters can book at the same time.

⚠️ Important Note

Booking Options and Units don’t always work well together. That’s because if each renter picks a different option (like “5 tablecloths” vs. “10 tablecloths”), it can become hard to track how many units are really left.

Always make sure the setup works for your listing before publishing.

Daily vs. Night Rentals

Daily Rental

A daily rental means the renter has the item or space for the full day. On the calendar, the renter must select the same start and end date to book one day. ⚠️ If they select two different dates, the system will bill it as two days.

Nightly Rental

A night rental is used for properties, where the stay goes overnight. On the calendar, the renter selects a start date (check-in) and an end date (check-out) — usually the next day. Example: Select Jan 1 (start) and Jan 2 (end) = 1 night rental.
